It is time to put an end to all the fashion predictions. There have been a lot of rumours regarding the designer of the wedding gown of the Hunger Games’ character Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence). But those rumours can come to an end as the Hunger Games blog, Capitol Couture, released the new promo posters for the movie and they feature the wedding outfits for the entire movie cast.
The costume designer of the movie Trish Summerville has revealed that it is not an Alexander McQueen gown as previously rumored. The credit for designing this gown goes to Jakarta based designer Tex Saverio. But the rumoring fashionistas were not wrong about the creator of the gown that Effie (Elizabeth Banks) wears in the movie. It is an Alexander McQueen dress from the Fall 2012 collection!
Tex Saverio is not new to the industry. He has designed outfits for America’s TV reality queen Kim Kardashian and song sensation Lady Gaga. The wedding gown is made up of layers of chiffon and organza, and is actually a layered billowing skirt. A Swaroski studded corset under a metal cage on the bodice makes the dress a powerful fashion statement. Jennifer looked angelic in the new poster with a white rose. The girls aren’t the ones with some new fashion as Peeta’s wedding suit is by Korean-based designer, Juun J, and his shoes are Rick Owens.
